Weekend Fun in Brenham

Last weekend we went to my parent’s house to spend time with family and celebrate my hubby’s birthday.  This quaint little town is home of THE Blue Bell Ice-cream.  If you haven’t had it, you need to get some quick!  Brenham is located between Austin and Houston and people from all over come through and stay in or near Brenham.

To start the festivities, we drove my dad’s chenille, which he completely restored.  It was a ton of fun driving around in that beautiful car!!  To make the day a little more fun, I made a scavenger hunt for us to complete.  It was pretty fun seeing the guys get into it!

Saddlehorn Winery

Our first stop was to Saddlehorn Winery in Burton, Tx.  It is located just outside of Brenham and if you are ever driving from Austin to Houston, then you pass right by it!  This winery was just the perfect little place!  The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable and the wine was amazing! We did a wine flight, so for $10, you can choose any 6 wines.  We really loved their Malbec and Tempranillo, so got a bottle of the Tempranillo to share!

They also serve wood fire pizza until sell out.  The pizza was delicious and complimented the wine perfectly.  They have an outdoor patio to enjoy the weather, and inside they have high top tables and a cozy nook to sit back and relax with friends.

Brazos Valley Brewery

The next stop on our scavenger hunt was to the Brazos Valley Brewery.  They have places to sit inside, but we are patio people and headed straight there.  They have a television outside with sports on, which was perfect since my hubby’s team was playing.

They had a local duo come in to sing, and they did an excellent job with entertaining everyone.  While the atmosphere was fun, the beer was top notch! We especially loved, their 13th beer with Texas A&M colors! If you get a chance, be sure to swing by and check them out! They are so welcoming that you feel like you are home drinking with your friends.

We didn’t get to any other places because we had such a fun time at the winery and brewery.  If you are ever in the Brenham area, be sure to check these places out!
