This past weekend was Father’s Day and we enjoyed every minute relaxing and spending time with friends and the kiddos.
I can’t believe it, but the hubby and I actually watched not one, but two movies!!! We never go to the movies and finding to watch movies is non existent. We had a fun filled night watching Captain America: Winter Soldier and The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Now, I usually love my Hallmark movies, but these were fun to watch and I can’t wait to see the new ones coming out.
Saturday was spent running a few errands with this cutie and having friends over for dinner. My hubby made beer brats and they were delish. I tell you what- that guy knows his way around a grill & smoker!!
Sunday was Father’s Day so I made reservations for a buffet lunch at a hotel in town. The food was geared towards the men with BBQ chicken, ribs, steak, and brisket. The sides were amazing with coleslaw, BBQ beans, jalapeño corn, and some shrimp/avocado dish. I could not believe all of the desserts. We were drooling just looking at them!! Banana pudding, pecan pie, cobbler, and brownies that were top knotch!
After a filling lunch, we drove around the local state park, while the kiddos napped in the car and then spent the rest of the afternoon playing in the pool.
That evening, my hubby opened his gifts from us and he loved them! He needed a new stud finder, so I made sure to get him an upgrade with one that looks for wires, metal and wood studs. However, his favorite gift was a decorative box with our last name on it. I had two whiskey glasses made with his initials and his father’s initials, so he could always share a glass of whiskey in memory of his dad.
I had the gift made from the etsy store, Teals Prarie definitely check them out!
We had a wonderful, fun-filled weekend and love that it’s summer time!
